Open of the New Ivory Coast Shôgi Ligue: Sakura

The Ivorian Shogi players now have new Shôgi called Sakura Ligue.
The Ligue aimes to play more shôgi, train players, initiate new players, make ranking for the players and organize tournaments.

The official ceremony of the launch of the Sakura Ligue will hold in September 07th 2014.

2014-2015 is a new year of challenge for Kishi from Africa. As we plan to organize in 2015 the International Abidjan Shôgi Open, we are also planning as follow:
- Shôgi meetings 2 sundays by month
- Shôgi little tournament once a quarter
- A national championship to determine the Title of national greatest player, yearly
- Friendship games on www.81dojo.com against other players from wide world...

Our goal is to create more interest in Shôgi in Ivory Coast, then in Africa, that is why we have such long time of hard working to put in place the Sakura Ligue. In fact, help from other federations, for online friendship games, and materials would be greatly appreciated!!! Shôgi has definitively found its place in Africa, let's first make it strong in Ivory Coast then in the other african countries !!!

Schedule of the International Abibjan Shôgi Open, first edition:

Thursday,23th of August: Arrival of the guest Rene Gralla, and all players out from Côte d'Ivoire at Houphouet Boigny Airport of Abidjan

Friday, 24th: 14H- 17H, the three first rounds

Saturday, 25th: 08H- 09H GMT: welcoming of all guests and players
9H- 10H30 : Jpop and tradionnal african music perform by Meiji Bunka Institute band
10H30 - 12H: Demonstration ( Shôgi, Senterej and Dobutsu)
12H- 13H: Break (breakfast offered)
13H-17H: the four last rounds
17H- 18H: rewards, photo
18H: End of IASO 2012
Games rules:
Swiss system of 20 minutes + 30 s
Pairings will be with the help of Lei Saarlainen from France Shôgi Federation.
All players who will take part in this tournament will get, at the end, their first ratings...

International Abidjan Shôgi Open (IASO)

A new page of the Shôgi story book, will be writen soon! The Côte d'Ivoire Shôgi association will organize soon the International Abidjan Shôgi Open. This event will be yearly event and will become next the greatest Shôgi meeting on the african continent. For the first edition, particular things are planned.
It will probably make demonstration, of the african contribution of chess world, the Ethiopian chess version SENTEREJ, and also the Toys pieces of shôgi of Rene Gralla, the deutsch journalist (we are waiting for confirmation).
The event will held the 24 and 25  of August, in Abidjan Cocody, and is opened to all amateurs of shôgi around the world. The programm of venue, and informations about accomodation, will be communicated soon!
